Hi! My name is Anna.
We need a world where more HSPs are thriving and reaching their full potential, because I believe in the gift that HSPs have to offer the world.
My self-discovery journey made me realize and understand how lonely it can feel in our inner worlds. Wired differently, the people around us, just don't quite get it. With a brain that's constantly processing information and a nervous system that goes in alert mode multiple times a day, all the well-meaning advice are easier said than done. A lot of things are just a bit more challenging for us, because we feel and think deeply and so we continuously have to factor in these aspects of us.
But highly sensitive people can grow exponentially, when they're deeply heard, fully understood, supported with self-reflection and offered the right tools. It's this combination of guidance that helps a highly sensitive person to reach their full potential.
Highly sensitive people need to be heard and understood first, because that's what will unlock their clear connection with their inner guidance.
They need support with self-reflection, because they need a container for their brain that goes all over the place. And they need to know which tools work for them, so they can take good care of themselves.
This is why I offer this combination of support as a service, because I believe we need a world where more HSPs are thriving and reaching their full potential.
Anna in a nutshell:
Lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity for the human experience and an intrinsic drive to keep expanding her heart and her mind."
I'm a very curious and inquisitive person and I have a strong connection with my inner guidance. I contemplate human dilemma's and the solutions for these. And I always wonder about how I can be and do better, so I can contribute to the collective change we so desperately need.
I'm inspired by Ghandi's words: "Be the change you want to see in the world."
And Lao Tzu's words: "If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation."
I take radical responsibility for myself and my own part in any conflict, because it's the only thing I have control over. And so, when I contemplate, I use the situation as a mirror and I reflect on what I can learn about myself, what I can change and how I can grow from it. Not from a place of self-blame and martyrdom, but from a place of commitment to my responsibility to be the change I want to see. The shadow work is equally as important as the light work. Because the shadow work has an effect on how bright our lights can shine.
My starting point is compassion first. Compassion for all. Compassion that we are all doing the best we can in the best way we know how, factoring in the wounds that we're carrying inside. It's only from that starting point of compassion that we can feel safe to take small steps in looking at our own part in a conflict and make changes to grow from them.
I remember my first step in taking a look at my own part in a painful situation. My heart had just been broken and I had hit rock bottom because of it. Then the universe brought help, in the physical form of Iyanla Vanzant. She taught me that we attract the same treatment as how we treat ourselves. She was right, my self-talk and self-image was very negative. So I went inward and made a decision then and there, that I was gonna change my opinion about myself and show up in the world with the energy of worthiness. My external reality immediately changed.
That experience taught me how my energy influences what I attract in my physical world. And from then on, I kept looking inward. I decided to operate from the premise that everything I encounter is a gift, because it comes to shine a light on my shadow, so I can shine even brighter.
I decided to believe that everything is rigged in my favor. It's never easy to experience pain, but I always accepted it as a gift, because it has been brought into my life for the purpose of reaching my full potential.
It's been 23 years since that pivoting moment in my life: The moment I made a decision that I was gonna accept lifes challenges as a blessing in disguise and that I'm gonna look for the lesson hidden in it.
And life has become better and better over time. It's a journey of building, one conscious step at a time. And over time it becomes this beautiful life that's filled with so much heart and soul.
Yesterday, I was clever, so I tried to change the world.
Today, I am wise, so I'm changing myself.
All that deep inner work has paid off.
18 years ago, I met the man of my dreams. And together we built everything that we have now, from scratch.
We have a beautiful daughter together, who's now 12 years old and also an HSP.
7 years ago, his 3 equally beautiful children, came to live with us from abroad, and in an instant we became a family of 6 cramped in a 3-bedroom apartment. But I had faith that it would all work out well. And it did, 2 years later, we found our dream home with enough space for all of us to live comfortably in.
Life is never without challenges and we're not perfect (and have given up trying to be a long time ago).
But what I love so much about our life together is that it has very thick and strong roots in the soil of love, gratitude, connection, vulnerability, repair, faith and understanding.
These inner muscles and relational skills have helped us a lot in navigating whatever challenge (big or small) we have had to face and come out from it even stronger than before.
I have a degree in Dutch Law from the University of Amsterdam.
Then I trained to become a certified Law of Attraction coach.
After that I did a training for Life coaching.
And then another training to become a certified HSP coach.
I've done Vera Helleman's 1 year training Emotieleer (about how to decipher the message of our emotions).
I also did a year long weekly course from Dr. Shefali Tsabary titled:
"The year of the Awakend Heart" and her additional meditation training.
I've done several parenting courses from Carrie Contey and Dr. Becky Kennedy.
I've done the Compassionate Inquiry course from Dr. Gabor Maté.
I've done the B-School and Copy Cure course from Marie Forleo.
I've done Esther Perels relationship course from Conflict into Connection.
These are just the most important of the trainings and courses I've done.
But I've studied, applied and practiced countless books and courses over the past 23 years.
And last but not least, the most important training of all is Life Experience and the application of all that knowledge in real life.
Your vision will become clear
only when you can look into your own heart.
Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens.
